Simpson Millar Appoints One Of The Regions Toughest Litigators
The Law Of... tough litigationNational law firm Simpson Millar has appointed Matthew Clayton as partner and Head of Serious Injury in the firms Manchester office. Matthew will be advising on the most serious and complex cases, and overseeing the work of the team.
Matthew was formally a partner and lead solicitor in serious injury at Fentons and, most recently, principal lawyer at Slater & Gordon.
Over the last few years, Matthew has recovered compensation in excess of £100 million for his clients. His most recent success was a High Court case where he successfully recovered a seven-figure sum for a client: The insurer had otherwise refused to accept that an accident had caused brain injury
Matthew says: "It was a very easy decision to join Simpson Millar; it is a forward-thinking, national practice and a major player in serious injury litigation. The firm’s ambitions to continue expanding and its client service philosophy match my own extremely well."
In Chambers & Partners, sources had this to say about Matthew: "He's one of the toughest litigators you'd ever meet. You want him on your side - he'll dig in and fight and get a result."
Complex Injury divisional director, Emma Costin
comments: "Matthew has a national reputation in brain injury litigation with a track record many would envy. I’m extremely pleased that he decided to join Simpson Millar; his expertise will benefit both our clients and help support the team nationally."
As a keen footballer and cricketer, Matthew is thrilled to be moving to Simpson Millar's offices overlooking Old Trafford.
