Raising Money For Charity – Walk The Thames 2016!

The Law Of... supporting the London Legal Support Trust

On Saturday 29th October, some of Simpson Millar's solicitors will be raising money for the London Legal Support Trust (LLST) by taking part in the Walk the Thames 2016 charity event.

The Law Of... supporting the London Legal Support Trust

Our Zena Soormally, Aimee Brackfield, David Thomas, Selma Tarim, Thaminah Ali – and some friends and family – are getting ready to face the ever-changing October weather and walk 13.1 miles alongside Mr. Justice Haddon-Cave to raise funds for the LLST.

What Services Do The LLST Offer?

In tough economic times, more and more people desperately need legal support and advice for housing, benefits, debt, and employment issues – some of whom aren't able to afford legal fees.

The LLST is an independent charity that helps to fund law centres and pro bono agencies in and around London that offer legal advice to people in need.

A reduction in funding given to these pro bono agencies has placed a great deal of strain on the resources available to help even the most vulnerable individuals, which is why the services offered by the LLST are so crucial.

How Can I Help The LLST?

Simpson Millar is proud to do our part for charity and ensure that those in need continue getting the help that they deserve.

"Without the funding and legal support of the LLST, many advice agencies would find it really tough to offer services to individuals and families who have nowhere else to turn. I previously worked for a law centre that saw the benefit of the LLST’s work first hand. Having supported the LLST for many years, I have seen the real difference it makes to the provision of advice and serivces", Zena comments.

"Everyone should have access to justice, but this can only happen if we all come together and show our appreciation for charities like the LLST."

"If you'd like to help the LLST (and all those who benefit from its work), and want to show your support for our brave walkers, you can donate to this great cause by clicking here."
