Personal Injury accident results in £5,000 compensation
We recently helped a client who suffered an injury after falling over
debris in a household waste sorting Depot.
Our client attended the Holme Well Road household waste sorting Depot in Middleton in 2009. As our client was walking towards the skip she had to step across rubbish
that littered the area. She placed her rubbish in a skip and as she turned to make her way across the car park back to her car, her feet slid away from beneath her
and she fell suffering injury to her shoulder
, elbow and hip, and lacerations to the palms of her hands from broken glass that littered the pavement.
The council representatives refused to accept liability
. Court proceedings were issued resulting in an amicable £5000 settlement
to the claimant without having to attend Court. A settlement was achieved on the basis that the operators of the site failed to provide the claimant a safe passage
along the depot.Useful Links
