Leeds-lawyer negotiates lease for new Green Party HQ

The Green Party – which recently celebrated the election of its first MP – has signed a 5 year lease for a new HQ. Lyndon Campbell, Associate in the Commercial Property Department of national law firm Simpson Millar LLP negotiated the lease on behalf of the Party.

The Green Party’s new office on Leonard Street is owned and managed by the Ethical Property Company which buys and develops commercial properties into eco friendly workspaces to the benefit of charities, social enterprises and campaign groups.

Chief Executive, David Murray said:

"For everyone at the Green Party, operating out of premises which are managed by an organisation that promotes and encourages environmental sustainability is absolutely essential. "

"Our new office is open plan, boasts a more central location and has excellent disabled access which was an important criterion for us. Everyone is really excited about the move which has given us a real energy boost."

Mr Campbell of Simpson Millar said:

"It has been a real pleasure to represent the Green Party and negotiate a lease which suits their particular requirements. Environmentally friendly credentials are increasingly on the shopping list for corporates and not-for-profit organisations alike, and this is a trend which I think will continue."

The party recently celebrated the election of Britain’s first green MP, Caroline Lucas – representing Brighton Pavilion – and has now relocated its workforce from its old office on Waterlow Road, Islington.
