Law firm agrees sponsorship deal with Leeds United
Leeds law firm Simpson Millar has signed a 1-year sponsorship deal with Leeds United Football Club
The firm, which operates 11 national offices from its headquarters in Leeds
, is led by life-long fan Peter Watson, and Simpson Millar’s managing partner says his allegiance certainly helped sweeten the deal.
"I’m very much looking forward to the new season and am personally especially pleased that the partnership here at Simpson Millar has agreed to support our local club
. Leeds United is one of the best supported teams in the country."
The sponsorship of LUFC is seen as an excellent opportunity for Simpson Millar to connect with some of its core customer base
for which it provides personal legal services ranging from wills and conveyancing to personal injury and family law advice. The arrangement also continues a tradition of sports sponsorship
, with Doncaster Racecourse another of its long-term strategic partners.
"Last season the club saw up to 33,000 fans for its home games, which bodes well for 2012-2013 and I’m confident Leeds United will continue to be an attractive brand to be associated with
both here in Yorkshire and around the UK. We look forward to our new relationship and I can’t wait for the new season to begin. The signings manager, Neil Warnock has made over the summer means the club now has a squad that is well placed to challenge for promotion back into the Premier League where it belongs."
As part of the deal, Simpson Millar will feature extensively on the pitchside advertising hoardings facing the south stand, as well as on the very popular Leeds United website.
Earlier this month the firm threw its support behind an important event in aid of Show Racism the Red Card
and the Stephen Lawrence Charitable Trust
. The guest of honour, Doreen Lawrence was joined by other influential figures in the North East where Simpson Millar has an office, for an evening of fashion and entertainment as well as the launch of a limited edition anti-racism T-shirt range.
In Cardiff, the firm last week agreed to sponsor a local youth football team
in a bid to help local youngsters follow in the footsteps of iconic Wales international, Craig Bellamy.
"Although Simpson Millar is a national law firm, each office makes its mark locally
in support of sport, charity, people and businesses. That is an ethos that we will continue to promote."
