Illness Bug at the Concorde El Salam

Simpson Millar LLP act for Group Illness Claim against First Choice

We have recently been instructed by a group of people that suffered sickness and diarrhoea at the Concorde El Salam, an all-inclusive hotel in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.

Egypt Holiday Illness

The holiday makers that we are representing stayed at the Concorde El Salam in July and August of this year. Shortly after they arrived they were struck down with extremely painful stomach cramps and bouts of diarrhoea.

We would be particularly interested to hear from other people that have also experienced sickness problems at the 5 star hotel which boasts 2 buffet restaurants and a la carte dining. If you have experienced similar problems, it may be that we can help you claim compensation against your tour operator.

The severe bouts of sickness that our clients experienced are often put down to “Traveller’s Diarrhoea”. Many people simply assume that Traveller’s Diarrhoea is just something you get when travelling to places like Egypt. In fact, it is often caused by germs that can be contained, if staff at the hotel adopt sensible hygiene procedures.

Traveller’s Diarrhoea, or Pharaoh’s revenge, as it is often known in Egypt, can be caused by E. coli or Salmonella which are associated with contaminated meat and poultry; or Shigella or Cryptosporidium which are usually associated with contaminated water.

This is not the first time we have been instructed to act for people that suffered illness at the hotel.

In 2012 we were instructed by a couple that suffered a similar illness during the course of the holiday that were awarded £3000 each in compensation.
