Holiday Village Red/Coral Sea – Egypt – Salmonella in Sharm

Angry holiday makers have contacted Simpson Millar Solicitors after returning home ill from alleged food poisoning whilst on holiday at the Red Sea Holiday Village Resort in Sharm El Sheikh – Egypt.

Symptoms of the sickness affecting the hotel’s guests include debilitating stomach cramps - bouts of vomiting and uncontrollable diarrhoea with holiday makers treated for salmonella food poisoning.

Nick Harris, Head of Travel Law at Simpson Millar urges anyone affected by illness at the Red Sea Holiday Village to contact him. He said:

"If holiday makers are becoming ill due to food poisoning or because of poor food hygiene standards we will be seeking substantial compensation for those affected – salmonella and other bacterial infections such as cryptosporidium are avoidable if reasonable care is taken."

"We have spoken with holiday makers who are reporting horrific experiences. One holiday maker whose son has since been diagnosed with salmonella food poisoning described how his entire family were struck down by illness."

"The gentleman had the Environmental Health Department visit his family. This illustrates how serious the matter is if there is salmonella at the Holiday Village Red Sea. "

The hotel has around 500 rooms and operates as an all-inclusive hotel. It is used by Thomson Holidays and First Choice Holidays – 2 of the UK’s largest tour operators. The resort is also known as the Coral Sea Holiday Village and is located in resort of Sharm El Sheikh.
