Holiday Claims Update – Holiday Village Hotel – Benalmadena – Costa del sol - Spain

Dated:

Simpson Millar LLP Solicitors are receiving reports from holiday makers affected by illness during August and September 2009 at the Holiday Village Hotel in the resort of Benalmadena in Spain.

Holiday makers returning from the Holiday Village Hotel in Benalmadena in Spain are contacting Holiday Claims Solicitors Simpson Millar complaining that their holidays have been ruined by illness at the Hotel.

Reports of illness amongst the hotel’s guests including symptoms of violent diarrhoea and vomiting are concerning.

The hotel operates on an all-inclusive basis where guests share the same facilities and meal arrangements indicating that the source of infection lies possibly within the hotel.

Nick Harris, Head of Travel Law at Simpson Millar said:

“People who are contacting us have described some awful experiences. Strangely it seems to be young children who are mainly affected. I will be investigating the complaints thoroughly and urge anyone who has been affected by illness at the Holiday Village Hotel to contact me urgently (freephone: 0808 129 3347)."

"If it transpires that the sickness outbreak was caused by poor swimming pool hygiene or food poisoning I will be seeking to ensure my clients each receive substantial compensation for their ruined holidays."

The Holiday Village Hotel is located in the resort of Benalmadena in the Costa del Sol and has 360 rooms.
