Holiday Claims News - Illness strikes at the Barcelo Fuerteventura Thalasso Spa – Costa Caleta

Dated:

Simpson Millar Solicitors LLP are speaking to holiday makers arriving home from the Barcelo Fuerteventura Thalasso Spa Hotel in the resort of Costa Caleta – Fuerteventura following an outbreak of illness and sickness at the hotel during mid October 2009.

Holiday makers are contacting Holiday Claims Solicitors Simpson Millar describing an alarming situation with guests being struck down by sickness.

Guests are describing symptoms including debilitating stomach cramps - violent diarrhoea – vomiting - headaches and flu like symptoms.

Nick Harris, Head of Travel Law at Simpson Millar said:

"There is clearly a serious issue at the hotel."

"The hotel is an all-inclusive hotel and the number of people falling victim to illness is highly suspicious."

"We have not heard of any other hotels in the vicinity being affected in such a way, which strongly indicates that whatever is causing holiday makers to become ill lies within the hotel."

"If it is the case that a pathogen such as salmonella or E-coli is involved then this would suggest a very serious problem."

Should the sickness outbreak have been caused by food poisoning then those affected can expect to receive substantial compensation and I ask anyone who has been affected by illness at the hotel to contact me (freephone 0808 129 3347)

The Barcelo Fuerteventura Thalasso Spa Hotel, is located in resort of Costa Caleta and boasts 462 rooms.
