High value compensation awarded for a head injury accident victim

We recently acted on behalf of a client who had been hit by a car and suffered a serious head injury.

Our client was involved in a road traffic accident where he was hit by a car whilst walking through a zebra crossing. Due the incident our client sustained serious injuries to his head, which resulted in 3 week hospital stay where he was transferred from intensive care to a high dependency unit.

Zebra Crossing Road Accident

As a result of the head injury he incurred during the road accident, our client suffered from loss of hearing, continuous headaches and regular bouts of dizziness, in addition to occurrences of memory loss. Our client now requires regular attention as he is unable to look after himself and has as a result of the accident, moved in with his partner where he relies on his partner to care for him.

After being examined by 2 experts, our client was diagnosed to have suffered a traumatic brain injury and a mild to moderate concussive head injury. Both experts agreed that further recovery was required for our client stating that our client would not be able to return to work for a minimum of 12 months.

Phillip Gower, Head Injury Claims Expert commented: "Due to strong witness statements we were able to obtain compensation for our client in the sum of £275,000. Liability was in question and due to conflicting views and evidence, the case was not straight forward but Simpson Millar persisted and helped to get our client the compensation he deserved."

"Head injuries can be very serious and we hope the compensation awarded will help our client move forward with his life after such a terrible accident."
