Helen wins global legal award
A Leeds-based specialist solicitor has been judged the Estate Planning Lawyer of the Year
in England for 2014.
Helen Forster, a private client solicitor at national law firm Simpson Millar, received the accolade in the Corporate Intl Magazine Global Awards
The international awards scheme recognises expert practitioners
whose success has made them stand out over the past 12 months, while demonstrating technical excellence as well as world class service delivery.
Helen joined Simpson Millar LLP in April 2013 and specialises in wills, trusts, probate, care fees planning, Lasting Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection work.
Commenting on her award, Helen said: “I’m honoured and thrilled to have been recognised by the Corporate Intl Magazine Global Awards. Winning the Estate Planning Lawyer of the Year in England award is a great accreditation
and a real boost.
“My legal passion is elderly client care and Court of Protection work. With our ageing population, this is something that will increasingly touch more and more people
and which is central to the lives of vulnerable individuals.”
A member of the Law Society, and The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), Helen qualified as a Dementia Champion with Age UK in 2012, and became a member of Bequest in 2013. In addition Helen and is in the process of becoming a full member of Solicitors' For The Elderly
She has wide-ranging experience of elderly client care matters, including managing the affairs of people who cannot manage them themselves
as well as undertaking Court of Protection applications and disputes.
Helen, who lives in Leeds, qualified as a solicitor in 2009 after obtaining a Law degree from Newcastle University. Aside from work, Helen is a musician, as well as teaching and participating in handicraft workshops
around the country.
