Experienced lawyer and former midwife Kay Barnes joins Simpson Millar’s medical negligence team

Simpson Millar has strengthened its specialist Medical Negligence practice with the appointment of experienced lawyer and former midwife Kay Barnes. Simpson Millar is a national law firm with 13 offices nationwide. Kay joins the Leeds office, and brings 19 years of legal experience, on top of the insight her time as a qualified midwife brings to her specialism in supporting families affected by injuries caused at birth.

Kay is a clinical negligence lawyer specialising in cerebral palsy, Erb’s palsy, and other consequences of clinical negligence at birth. Her extensive clinical knowledge provides an invaluable insight into the clients experience enabling her to identify key issues at an early stage and to provide the help and support needed during the running of the case through to successful conclusion.
