Compensation awarded for medical negligence case
We recently represented a client who had been prescribed benzodiazepines
over a substantial period of time.
This drug was commonly prescribed in the UK in the 1960’s, for symptoms such as anxiety, stress and panic. By the 1980’s it was documented that these drugs were addictive
and alternatives should be considered.
Our client had been prescribed these drugs by her GPs longer than was necessary, and became unwell as a result. The drugs had been prescribed by various GPs over a long period of time, meaning the claim was against all the GPs involved and not one particular GP.
Following negotiation, an offer of settlement was made and the client was awarded a significant figure of compensation
for the injury caused to her. Useful Links
