Bristol Office Relocation
The History Of…Bristol's New Office Location
We are happy to announce that our Simpson Millar Bristol Family team will be moving to a new office in the city to join our other teams. Our new location will be Temple Way, only a short walk from Bristol Temple Meads railway station.
We Look Forward To Welcoming You
Our new location is in the city's historic Evening Post Building. Opened in September of 1974, the building is a wonderful piece of brutalist modern architecture built for Bristol's flagship newspaper. Once described as ‘more a sculpture than a building’, it was formerly the headquarters of Bristol United Press and boasted a print hall equipped to produce 70,000 newspapers an hour, and a rooftop garden for its editor, on the sixth floor.
Although it is still home to the local press, much of the building now known as One Temple Way is occupied by thriving new businesses – and it remains one of Bristol’s most recognisable landmarks.
One Temple Way was designed by Bristol-born architect John Collins, also responsible for the equally iconic One Redcliff Street, originally known as the DRG building from its time as HQ for the Dickinson Robinson Group. Collins’ designs were an important statement of the city’s forward looking self confidence. The Evening Post Building was commended by the Royal Institute of British Architects in 1975.
The Simpson Millar Bristol office is proud to call One Temple Way our new home and we are excited to continue our work in a place that is such a rich piece of Bristol's history and character.
Only a few minutes’ walk from our previous premises in Corn Street, One Temple Way enjoys a more centralised position, closer to transport links with easy access to Cabot Circus shopping centre and the city's waterfront.
Excitement Surrounding The Temple Way Move
Our head of Family Law, John Pratley, commented on the decision to move: “We are proud to be moving to such a recognisable building in the Bristol area that has such history. Despite the move, it will be business as usual and our clients are of course welcome to come and visit us as they normally would. We have good links to Bristol’s network of cycle paths and public transport, and easily accessible parking nearby.”
Anyone driving into Bristol for an appointment will be pleased to know that the new office is easily accessible from the motorway being in close proximity to the M32.
If you need to contact Simpson Millar Bristol, you will be able to visit us at our brand new premises at 1 Temple Way. To reach us by telephone, please call 0345 357 9600.
