Accident at work results in £3,000 compensation

We recently assisted a client claim compensation following a foot injury caused by an accident at work.

Our client was at work where he was employed as an Electrical Engineer. He was working inside a machine when a large crow bar which is used for moving machines fell. The crow bar was propped up against something that it should not have been and was unstable. The crow bar fell onto the client’s left foot causing soft tissue damage.

Our client's employer had failed to provide adequate safety footwear or a safe system of work and we pursued a personal injury claim on this basis.

Emma Roberts, Personal Injury specialist said: "Liability was admitted early on without the need for further investigations so medical evidence was obtained swiftly and the defendants responded with an offer of £2,750. Settlement was then agreed in the sum of £3,000.

"This personal injury claim was opened and closed in the space of 7 months due to constant communication with the client and an early admission of liability from the defendant. Obtaining a very successful and suitable settlement without prolonged litigation and costs"
