£2,251.80 compensation awarded for whiplash injury
We recently helped a man following a road traffic accident
which happened whilst he was driving a lorry in August 2011.
He was stationary at a central junction of the A35 when the defendant’s van collided into the back of the lorry
. Airbags were fitted in the lorry, however, they did not deploy.
Our client was facing forward at the time of the road accident and was jolted forwards before recoiling back into his seat. He sustained a whiplash type injury
to the neck, right side of his chest and both shoulders. The medical report anticipated the pain to the neck and pain in both shoulders would resolve after 7 months
. The pain to the chest resolved after 7 days. Our client also suffered psychological symptoms
, in the form of insomnia, which lasted for approximately 4 weeks.
Our client had 4 days of absence before returning to work resulting in a financial loss of income
The defendant admitted liability for the road accident and our client received a personal injury settlement of £2,251.80 in compensation
