£2,250 compensation awarded to trip accident victim
We recently helped a man following a tripping accident on a public footpath
. He received £2,250 compensation
for his injuries.
Our client was on his way to work when the accident happened. He was walking along a public footpath from a car park when he suddenly tripped because of dips caused by missing cobble stones
in the path. He badly sprained his ankle.
We contacted the local council who where responsible for the public footpath and liability was quickly admitted as they had failed to keep the public footpath in a good state of repair
. We promptly proceeded to obtain a medical report and evidence of the injury sustained by our client.Emma Roberts, Personal Injury Litigation Executive
at Simpson Millar commented: "The defendants made an initial offer of £2,000 which was not unreasonable but I managed to negotiate an increase for our client."
