Former Green Network Energy Staff Could Claim up to 90 Days’ Pay

What is a Protective Award?
It’s a payment made to staff who are made redundant without the right consultation period. There are some criteria you need to meet to make a Protective Award Claim. They are:
- You worked at a location where there were 20 or more people who were made redundant
- You weren’t given the right consultation period about your redundancy

How to Make a Protective Award Claim
To make a Protective Award Claim, you need to have a judgment from an Employment Tribunal.
You can make a Protective Award Claim as an individual or you and your colleagues can make one claim together.
Once the Employment Tribunal has considered the evidence, they will give you a judgment.
Time Limits to Make a Claim
You do only have a limited time to make a Protective Award. You only have 3 months less one day from the date of your redundancy. It’s so important to get legal advice as soon as possible so you don’t miss out on the time limit for a Protective Award Claim.
A Protective Award Claim can be made by both full and part time workers and your award will be based on your gross weekly pay.

What about Unpaid Wages and Holiday Pay?
The administrators should pay you any outstanding wages, holiday pay or anything else owed to you quite quickly. You can apply for these types of payments separately from a Protective Award. The Protective Award claim will take longer, as you’ll need a judgment from the Employment Tribunal.
