What is Continuing Healthcare Representation?
An important part of the process of looking to claim ongoing care fees, or looking to claim back care fees already paid retrospectively, is to attend Continuing Healthcare assessment meetings. These multidisciplinary meetings (MDTs) are held at both initial assessment and local appeal stages. If an agreement cannot be reached, an Independent Review Panel is held by NHS England.
Many people see the value in having a specialist Solicitor present at these assessments. While you’re always going to be the best person to fight for your loved one, the support of a Solicitor who knows the process can be helpful.
Our Representation Service
We already offer comprehensive Continuing Healthcare review and advice services, to support individuals and families through the application process.
We now offer a Representation Service where an experienced member of our team can attend NHS Continuing Healthcare (CHC Funding) assessment meetings with you and provide support.
We will hold a discussion with you before the meeting, if possible, review pertinent care documents and then attend the meeting with you on the day.
We will make sure the advice you are given is correct, that the information you want considered is presented and make arguments on your behalf in consideration of the eligibility criteria. Following the meeting, our representative will provide you with advice about how the meeting went.
Until we have attended the meeting, and undertaken a full review of the individual’s needs, we can’t guarantee the outcome. However, by instructing a member of our team to attend assessment meetings with you, we can make sure the best case is presented, using all our expertise.
Many people find it beneficial to have one of our Care Home Fees Solicitors there to offer support and guidance.
We can also help you decide whether or not to instigate an application for NHS Continuing Healthcare Funding. Our expert can come and meet you, review any available records and advise whether there are sufficient prospects of arguing eligibility for the funding to warrant making an application.
Whatever the prospects are, we can give you a clear picture and peace of mind.
Please get in touch with our Care Home Fees Solicitors for a no obligation chat about this service. We can provide you with a quote based on your individual circumstances.
