Simpson Millar LLP is very proud of its close relationship to the Communication
Workers' Union (CWU) and its members. The CWU is the biggest union for the communications
industry in the United Kingdom.
The Union has made considerable advances in the range of support and services that
it offers to its members not only in their working lives, but in their personal
lives and those of their families.

CWU members wishing to access any of our services should either speak to their local
union representatives or alternatively call the CWU Legal Helpline
to speak to a legal adviser free of charge.
Note: CWU members seeking advice in relation to their employment must seek advice
from their branch first.
Branch Rep Questionnaire
In January of this year Simpson Millar LLP sent out a questionnaire asking 140 branch representatives about the services we provide in an attempt to see where we could make improvements.
We had a great response and Simpson Millar LLP would like to thank those representatives who did return the questionnaire for taking the time to fill it in. Your comments are invaluable to us and we are currently seeing how we can put some of your suggestions in place.

Finally, those representatives that returned their questionnaire before Friday 27th February were entered into a free prize draw for a Champagne hamper and the lucky winner picked at random was Paul E Davies from the West Wales Section. Congratulations to him!
Our client, an employee of Royal Mail was struck by a hypodermic needle whilst carrying out her job sorting mail. She suffered a phobic reaction to needles and anything associated with Royal Mail. She lost her job although was fortunate to gain a part time job. She was paid £60,000 by her employers' insurers who had failed to provide her with a safe system of work and suitable protective equipment to ensure that any risk associated with hypodermic needles was reduced to the lowest level.
CWU Road Traffic Accident Helpline (known previously as Road Assist Scheme) - 0800 804 6674
The CWU Road Traffic Accident Helpline Scheme provides free legal cover that works independently, but alongside your motor insurance policy. It covers you (CWU member) and your immediate family who are involved in road traffic accidents whilst off duty. Any members wishing to use this service can call the Freephone number: 0800 804 6674 quoting "CWU Road Traffic Accident Helpline".

Our services
Simpson Millar LLP is currently responsible for providing the Legal Helpline for
the CWU and its members and works closely with the Union's panel of solicitors to
jointly provide the CWU Accident Helpline
to ensure that CWU members and their families have access to leaders in many fields
of law, including personal injury, industrial disease and clinical negligence.
In addition, the CWU in conjunction with Simpson Millar LLP and the other panel
solicitors work hard to provide additional benefits for CWU members in the form
