A child aged 7 was knocked down whilst crossing a road and sustained a fractured skull with serious brain damage. The child has been able to return to education, but it is unlikely that he will hold down full employment and will require care and assistance for the rest of his life. The settlement of £1.8m (second highest award in Wales) was approved by the High Court in Cardiff just prior to Trial.
