Other symptoms that you may notice include tiredness, hip dislocation, bone fracture
near the implant site, skin rash, difficulty walking, popping or crunching sounds
and inflamed tissue.
Also, because of the DePuy ASR's design, metal-on-metal friction can cause chromium
and cobalt to enter the bloodstream. These
heavy metals are linked to cancer, chromosome damage, kidney failure
and heart problems. There is also the risk of metallosis, a very dangerous disease
which kills nerves, ligaments, tendons, bone and muscle.
