Egypt Holiday Illness, Sickness or Accidents - Claim Holiday Compensation
Egypt attracts many holiday makers each year who
are looking for a holiday with great weather, archaeological treasures
eg pyramids, temples and tombs and a modern culture. However, not all of us
come back from our holidays with fond memories.
We are currently seeing an increase in Egypt holiday illness compensation
claims eg:
- Have you been ill or sick whilst on holiday in
Egypt?
- Had food
poisoning? or
- Become ill due to poor hygiene standards at your hotel
or resort?
- Suffered an injury or

Egypt Holiday Illness Hotel Outbreak - We are instructed by 20
holiday makers who suffered illness on holiday at a large all-inclusive hotel in
the Egyptian Red Sea resort. The holiday makers tested positive for a range of bacterial
pathogens including Salmonella food poisoning. Others tested positive for Cryptosporidium
– a bacterial infection often caused by swimming pool water contaminated by human
faeces. Others in the group contracted E-Coli – suggesting that the hotel was far
from hygienic. The holiday makers are now pursuing substantial compensation claims
for their ruined holidays and personal injuries.
Egypt Sickness Outbreak at Hotel – We are pursuing compensation
claims for 24 holiday makers who became ill at an Hotel in Sharm El Sheikh during
May and June 2010. Some of the holiday makers contracted salmonella food poisoning
at the hotel and others Shigella – a nasty bacterial infection which causes projectile
vomiting and profuse diarrhoea. The holiday makers complain that standards of hygiene
at the hotel were poor with the food left exposed to insects and served lukewarm
and in some cases under cooked – common causes of food poisoning. The tour operator
has made compensation offers.
Salmonella at Hotel in Egypt – Our client received £4,500 after
contracting Salmonella food poisoning during an all-inclusive holiday in Egypt.
The tour operator admitted liability as Salmonella can be avoided if food is cooked
properly.
Accidents in Egypt
Types of holiday accidents
that can occur include:
(This list of accidents is not exhaustive)
- Slipping on wet steps and stairs
- Slips in restaurants
- Slip and trip on broken floor tiles
- Road traffic and coach crash accidents
Hotel Accident In Egypt – Our client sustained a broken hip when
she slipped on a spillage at a hotel in Egypt whilst on holiday. The floor was made
of marble and hotel guests were permitted to carry drinks about the area which inevitably
spilt. The cleaning regime at the hotel was inadequate consequently leading to our
client’s accident. Our client is now pursuing a substantial claim for compensation
against her tour operator who under the Package Travel Regulations 1992 is responsible
for the accident.
