Thomas Mitchell is a Solicitor based in our Lancaster office. He specialises in Education Law and has some experience in Community Care and Family Law.
Thomas advises and represents clients on a wide range of educational matters including but not limited to preparing appeals and claims to the Special Educational Needs and Disability Tribunal, school admission appeals, school exclusions, home to school transport disputes, disputes about student finance, judicial reviews, disability discrimination and securing suitable education for children out of school.
He is also experienced in advising clients on family related matters such as disputes about contact with children, divorce, matrimonial finances and domestic abuse. He has also represented clients in the Family Courts.
Thomas has worked for Simpson Millar since August 2010 starting as a Education Legal Advisor and subsequently completed his training contract with the firm.
Thomas has an LLB (Hons) Law degree from Lancaster University.
Thomas provides pro-bono advice sessions on family, educational and community care related issues at North Lancashire Citizens Advice.
Thomas enjoys swimming, cooking, reading and walking.
