128 fee earners along with 121 support staff. Managing
Partner, Peter Watson, is responsible for the day-to-day running of
the firm and is supported by the Management Committee
and Equity Partners of the business.

Career:
After graduating from Durham University Peter spent a year with a leading Accountancy Practice during which time he completed the Chartered Accountancy Graduate Conversion Course. He then went to live in Queensland, Australia for 6 years during which time he studied for a second Law Degree. Peter qualified as a Solicitor in Queensland in December 1989 and is admitted as a Solicitor in both Australia and England and Wales.
He joined Simpson Millar in July 1992, shortly after returning to live in the UK. In July 1994, Peter became a Partner in the firm and in July 1996, was appointed as the firm's first Managing Partner - responsible for the day to day management and strategic development of the Simpson Millar group as a whole. Over the last 16 years Peter has overseen fundamental changes to the firm's structure together with substantial growth in terms of turnover and the firm's network of offices in England and Wales. He has contributed a chapter to the Law Society’s Practice Management handbook on the future of Legal Services.
Interests:
Peter's hobbies include football, flying and scuba diving and he is a qualified pilot and certified scuba diver. He is a trustee of the international water charity ‘Just a Drop’ and also plays an active part in supporting annual Humanitarian Aid convoys to help orphaned and under privileged children in Eastern Europe.
