Arshia is an Immigration Solicitor based in our Manchester Office and brings more than 7 years' experience to Simpson Millar's Immigration Department. Arshia is an expert litigator and excels in challenging Home Office decisions.
She advises and assists clients in all areas of immigration including the following:
Tier 1 Applications - for Entrepreneurs and Graduate Entrepreneurs who are hoping to set up, join or take over a business in the United Kingdom.
Tier 2 Applications - Sponsored Workers - for people wishing to enter the UK or to remain in the UK for work. This includes the following categories:
- Tier 2 General
- Tier 2 Minister of Religion
- Tier 2 Sports Person
- Intra company transfer
As Arshia has a keen interest and involvement in sport governance outside work, she has particularly focused on the Tier 2 Sportsperson category of the Immigration Rules.
Arshia presents a weekly radio show on Heritage FM which broadcasts across Greater Manchester and on DAB in English and Urdu and runs a free clinic at the British Muslim Heritage Centre. She also runs a free legal clinic at Simpson Millar's Manchester Office, every Wednesday at 10am.
As part of Simpson Millar's pro bono work, Arshia supports Hope for Justice in Manchester by running a pro bono caseload, supporting victims of trafficking. In 2016 we were shortlisted for the Yorkshire Legal Award for our pro bono work.
Away from work Arshia is heavily involved in football governance where she puts her expertise in equality, diversity and discrimination to good use to help effect a positive change in society and sport. In October 2013, Arshia was appointed by the FA as Chairman to its National Anti-Discrimination Panel to chair discrimination cases and also sits on the FA General Appeal Board Panel. On appointment, Arshia became the UK's youngest female panel member as well as the UK's youngest Asian female panel member for both the FA's National Anti-Discrimination Chairman's Panel and the General Board of Appeal. As of October 2016, she was appointed by the FA as a General Board of Appeal Chair on a national level.
Arshia speaks fluent Urdu and Punjabi and runs an own language caseload.
