We were approached by a client who needed our assistance after injuring herself at the gym that she had recently joined.

Our client joined a gym and received no induction training on how to use the equipment in a safe manner. When she was using a spin cycle machine she was instructed to sprint by her personal trainer. In doing so, her left foot slipped off the pedal causing her to suffer an injury to her knee.
It was stated by our client that at no point was she shown how to securely fasten her feet to the pedals, and that she received no instruction on how to use the cycle safely.
At first, the defendant failed to respond to the issue of liability and steps had to be taken to obtain documents from them. Liability was then accepted by the defendant.
As our client had suffered a pre-existing condition, determining causation became a problem however a medical report showed otherwise and a settlement of £4,446 compensation was agreed and awarded to our client in respect of her personal injury claim.
