At a prestigious awards ceremony in London, the Law Society noted that Simpson Millar LLP has "continued to impress" since first achieving Lexcel in 2000.
The Law Society Excellence Awards are convened annually to celebrate the outstanding achievements of the legal profession in England and Wales.
Open to individuals and teams from throughout the sector, the awards are designed to acknowledge the most outstanding legal practitioners in their respective areas of expertise.
The year's most innovative business models are recognised, as well as successful approaches to practice management, equality, social responsibility and diversity initiatives.
2012's award-winners were announced on 18 October by the President of the Law Society, Lucy Scott-Moncrieff, and the BBC presenter Mishal Husain. The event, held at Old Billingsgate in London, was attended by more than 600 legal professionals and their guests.
Shortlisted for the Practice Management category, Simpson Millar was noted for having achieved Lexcel in 2000 and every year since.
"They continue to improve and use Lexcel as a benchmark in all they do," the note read. "In the past year they've established a new appraisal system for staff, a risk management committee and the introduction of an automated client feedback system which feeds into management and appraisal processes."
Lexcel, the Society's international practice management standard, is a scheme by which practices certify that certain standards have been met following independent assessment. It is awarded only to solicitors who meet the highest management and customer care standards.
In her speech, the Law Society President noted the year-on-year increase in the quality and variety of entries.
"This year is no exception," Ms Scott-Moncrieff said. "The winners and highly commended entrants should be extremely proud."
"Winning a Law Society Excellence Award is a huge achievement that brings valuable recognition for individuals and firms."
Ms Scott-Moncrieff added that the awards reflect the Society's commitment to promoting quality, innovation and client service throughout the legal profession.
"This year our annual awards were bigger and better than ever with well over 600 people gathered to celebrate the individual and team achievements of solicitors from across England and Wales."
