When our client was working on a machine at work he suffered an injury to his finger. He asked Simpson Millar to assist him in making a claim for compensation.
Our client was cutting metal on a machine when of piece of the waste metal became wrapped around the controls. As he reached for the feed leaver to stop the machine the leftover metal wrapped around his finger causing a severe laceration.
There was no guard fitted around the control to prevent accidents such as this occurring. Our client could also not use gloves as they could become caught in the metal and drag the glove into the machine.
The defendant admitted liability after serving supported case law and photographs to them. Compensation of £12,050 was awarded to our client for their personal injury claim.
