We recently assisted a royal mail worker who was injured in a road accident whilst carrying out his duties at work.
Our client, Mr Callingham, was getting a parcel out of the back of his stationary Royal Mail van when it was struck by the defendant’s vehicle. The impact of the collision caused Mr Callingham to fall inside the van.
He suffered whiplash type injuries to the neck and shoulders and psychological symptoms of anxiety when in the back of the van.
The defendant disputed causation stating that the client was not near the vehicle, however, Susan Vanden our Road accident compensation specialist was confident that the claim would succeed and proceeded to secure medical evidence. An offer to settle was then put forward and the defendant conceded their position and settlement was agreed at £2,320.
My Callingham said "Throughout my case Simpson Millar kept me informed on what was happening and what they were trying to do and the best course of action to take. They were very clear and thorough in what they did even when the third party were non-compliant. Simpson Millar assured me that I had a strong case and were relentless in getting me my personal injury compensation award. So thank you Susan Vanden and her team and Simpson Millar."
