Chambers, which publishes the leading directories for the legal profession, has singled out several Simpson Millar lawyers for praise in their specialist areas in the 2012 UK edition.
Chambers is a completely independent organisation whose researchers interview thousands of lawyers and their clients around the world. Their directories are used by clients across the globe who are seeking recommended lawyers to represent them.
Our colleagues who impressed this year are:

Clinical Negligence: Mainly Claimant
Neil Fearn, "heads the clinical negligence department at Simpson Millar LLP and handles a range of clinical negligence matters, but comes particularly recommended for his expertise in cerebral palsy and Erb’s palsy-based claims. Sources single him out as 'an approachable, efficient and extremely knowledgeable practitioner'."
Ben Gent, "Ben Gent is head of the team in Gateshead and is singled out by market sources as 'courteous, efficient and always extremely friendly.' A recent highlight saw him obtain a £425,000 settlement in a case regarding causation and prognosis for severe chronic regional pain syndrome, following a relatively minor injury in which the liability for injury was admitted but extent of injuries was in dispute."
Peter Stefanovic, "impresses by being 'bright and analytical,' and 'fighting hard for his clients'."
Janet Johnson, "comes particularly recommended on claims relating to surgery negligence and misdiagnosis. Sources praise her 'thorough approach and painstaking dedication,' but also single out 'her ability to quickly to pick up and run with a case, analysing it shrewdly, before correctly selecting the right course of action'."
Marguarita Tyne, "deals with claims at the top end of seriousness, and is sympathetic with claimants'. She is instructed in a range of clinical negligence cases including those involving serious birth injuries."
Employment: Employee and Trade Union
Joy Drummond, "presents clients with 'clear and timely advice'. She is also felt to be 'fantastically efficient' and earns praise for being ahead of the curve on equality issues.
Personal Injury: Mainly Claimant
Warren Collins, "attracts instructions in the most complex of catastrophic cases, particularly spinal injuries".
We congratulate all of our colleagues who were named amongst the best in their fields against very tough competition and hope that even more Simpson Millar experts will be included in Chambers 2013.
