Education Legal Services

Following a competitive tender process, the Legal Service Commission issued 3 education law legal aid contracts to begin on 1 April 2013.

"Parents of children with special educational needs are often overwhelmed by the prospect of negotiating the most appropriate services with local authorities. It is our job to make sure these children benefit from all that the system has to offer them," said Bryan Nott of Maxwell Gillott (a former trading style of Simpson Millar LLP).

A large number of charities and other law firms already refer clients to Maxwell Gillott (a former trading style of Simpson Millar LLP) which employs the country's largest specialist education law team.

“Our expertise in this particular area is unrivalled. Whatever their situation, I can guarantee parents that we have seen it before and that we have helped find a solution,” said Bryan

He added: “For parents of children with special educational needs, some that might have been unfairly excluded from school, having access to specialist help and advice is absolutely paramount. Therefore, I am extremely pleased that we will continue to be able to provide education law advice under the legal aid scheme.”

Maxwell Gillott was a former trading style owned by national law firm Simpson Millar LLP which operates 11 offices across the UK.
