£4,425 compensation awarded for road traffic accident involving a bicycle
We were recently instructed to claim compensation for a road traffic accident
involving a parked vehicle and a bicycle.
Our client was cycling past a line of parked cars when the defendant, who was in one of the parked cars, opened his vehicle door, causing our client to be knocked off his bike
. Our client suffered from pain to his right shoulder, cuts to the right hand and fingers and cuts to his knee and leg. Our client also suffered from more long-term effects including shock and was shaken up as well as fearing travel following this accident.
Liability was admitted from the defendant after medical evidence was gathered and a settlement pack was submitted. Offers were made and we settled the bicycle accident claim
for £4,425 compensation for the client.
After the claim was settled, our client said "The service I received from Susan Vanden of Simpson Millar was excellent. I was kept informed about the progress of my case until a final settlement was achieved."
"Thank you for the wonderful service and the amount of compensation I received."
